The notion that the Media is the fourth estate rests on the idea that the media's function is to act as a guardian of the public interest and as a watchdog on the activities of government. Depending on one's view of the media, this is either self-serving rationalization, or an important component of the checks and balances that form part of a modern democracy.
Once we talk about FM broadcast in India; we have a preconceived notion that the FM broadcast as the fourth estate of communication has painted itself fully in colors of entertainment and is least bothered about the responsibility it garners as a communication medium. But the truth remains that FM broadcast in India is actually governed through clauses of Information and broadcasting ministry which has not permitted us to bestow our views or the news on responsive issues like politics but still we have notched effectively a nick in giving relative information’s to the citizens which make them a responsible civilian of the country.
Radio FM broadcast is the cheapest and has the widest listenership and hence governments of the state and the union itself use this as a platform to sensitize on health and other concerning issues. We, in the capacity of programming teams of any private FM broadcasters try to sensitize the city with their responsibilities towards the nation building.
· Traffic sensitization
· Heath issues
· Education
· Carrier
· Protecting heritage
· Maintaining Legacy of the City
· Culture
· Language
These are some of the pillars on which a city as well as the country rests and FM broadcasts are coherently working on checks and balances of these pillars so that we come out and stand as a responsible Fourth Estate.

Do Media knows its responsibilities ???
This is a questions which revolves in my mind, u have bring forth your notion and understanding, well i suppose not to speak against it, if i will not then i must say i am not a responsible citizen as media showcase itself.
My dear time to time issues come and evaporate in the heat of other issues,media questions only those which sensationalize and boost their TRP.
Many issues lie in the dust of time and none has pointed towards that.
So how can one say that FM or other mediums of mass communication are following the guidelines ethically.
A lot to say but i appreciate you put forth your perspective.
All i know is that we are not humans.... we are wild animals... achi soch bas kuch hi palo ki mehman hoti hai... jab baat aye gi baki bache RIVAL CHANELS se completion ki to sab bhool jaye ge... all we know is SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. lets tame our selves first... lets promise to be human first.

You are talking about in the heat of competition you have to compromise?and then u say SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST?
if you compromise you are not fit and if you are fit u have the courage and fight against odds,and one more thing only those people are appreciated afterwards who don't compromise...

lets not wait for ideal situations … I think its time to create them … lets be smart …lets accept facts and work accordingly… kranti ki batae karna asan hai but lets face a fact ki yae soch jada logo ki nahi hai ,aur hamare paas waqt kam hai. Its intelligent to get in the system and then clean it… lets be big enough to influence people… pehlae best business karate hai… logo ko apni takat dikhatae hai… phir leader bane ge. Values follow kare ge… ha is k liyae bohot conviction chahiyae. Lets be powerful (power as defined by the world) enough , so that the world is ready to listen to us .

This is a fact,if you go by this thought,there is a possibility of change if your thoughts r firm enough not to change,u may forget for a while but don't let anything to over power it for long.
